History
This gearbox has been manufactured by Maxwell since the early 90’s and is available with ratios of:
- 29:1
- P102179 - 300 fast (quickfit) (discontinued)
- P102106 - 300 fast (non quickfit) (discontinued)
- 44:1 P12425 - 800 (all types i.e. VW,VWC,VWCLP,VC)
- P12435 - HWC 1200 * pre 2001
- P100900 - 1000, Freedom, RC8 (all types)
- 56:1 P12201 - 500 (Pre 2006 discontinued) ref retrofit below
- P12436 - HWC1500, HRC10, HWC 1200 *post 2001
- P12427 - 1200 (discontinued) ref retrofit below
- P102730 - 1500, RC10, (all types)
A variety of gearbox tops which are specific to the windlass type are used with the same gearbox body.
The P100900 & P102730 gearboxes use the 'quickfit' castellated gearbox top
The P12435 & P12436 gearboxes use a 4 bolt gearbox top
The remaining models have a spacer tube incorporated into the gearbox top, this spacer varies from model to model and between deck clearances (EDC models not listed)
