Perfect for either starting or cranking batteries but also a great choice for an auxiliary battery as well. Optima blue top AGM batteries range from 750cca to 900cca with many different terminal configurations and sizes to suit any location. You can even mount them upside down or on there side and they are guaranteed to be leak proof. They are terminal corrosion free and gas free and will not gas under charge ever. Many batteries when left unused can sulphate up in less than 6 months which can lead to battery failure. Optima blue top batteries can maintain there charge for up to 12months providing there is no current draw. So its ready to go for the next season without even needing charging.

Optima Blue Top D34M Battery

Optima Blue Top D34M is dual purpose strong cranking and efficient AGM auxiliary battery.  Great choice for the serious fisherman or water sports enthusiast but also long lasting and tough enough for any RV, Caravan or 4×4 application.

So why Optima D34M Batteries? Faster charge times, extremely vibration resistant, spill proof guarantees and the ability to sit unused for long periods of time without losing its charge all make great reasons. Also with our spill proof guarantee they can be mounted just about anywhere you like even upside down.

The constant pounding of waves can have reduce normal battery life by years but thanks to Optima’s patented spiral cell technology and tightly wound plates you can easily expect up to twice the life of any top brand marine battery. Optima D34M is also a maintenance free battery meaning other than charging it every now and then you never have to maintain or add water to your battery. The sealed case not only makes them spill proof but you don’t get the horrible acid build up of other batteries either.

Recommended Charging Information:

  • Alternator: 13.65 to 15.0 volts
  • Battery Charger (Constant Voltage): 13.8 to 15.0 volts; 10 amps maximum; 6-12 hours approximate
  • Float Charge: 13.2 to 13.8 volts; 1 amp maximum (indefinite time at lower voltages)
  • Rapid Recharge: (Constant voltage charger) Maximum voltage 15.6 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). Charge until current drops below 1 amp.
  • Cyclic or Series String Applications: 14.7 volts. No current limit as long as battery temperature remains below 125°F (51.7°C). When current falls below 1 amp, finish with 3 amp constant current for 1 hour.
  • All limits must be strictly adhered to.

Recharge time will vary according to temperature and charger characteristics. When using Constant Voltage chargers, amperage will taper down as the battery becomes recharged. When amperage drops below 1 amp, the battery will be close to a full state charge.
(All charge recommendations assume an average room temperature of 77°F, 25°C)

Important Note:

Always wear safety glasses when working with batteries. Always use a voltage regulated battery charger with limits set to the above ratings. Overcharging can cause the safety valves to open and battery gases to escape, causing premature end of life. These gases are flammable! You cannot replace water in sealed batteries that have been overcharged. Any battery that becomes very hot while charging should be disconnected immediately. Not fully charging a battery can result in poor performance and a reduction in capacity.
